OSHA Recordkeeping & OSHA Inspections

OSHA's new rule on record keeping became law on 01/01/02 - Are you in compliance? If you are an OSHA covered employer you must use the new forms and complete them according to the new record keeping rules. Just how important are your OSHA records? Record keeping violations are consistently on OSHA's "Top-Ten" list of most frequently cited violations. A request to produce your OSHA recordsOSHA Recordkeeping & Inspections from the past five years is likely to be an OSHA Inspector's first act on your premises.

This session thoroughly examines the new standard, details significant changes and works through case studies. Attendees learn how to avoid common record keeping errors and learn how to keep your records from working against you. Additional topics include: When to record an incident and when not to, Illnesses vs. injuries, Pre-existing conditions, Record keeping responsibilities for contract and temporary employees, Access to records and Transition from the former rule.

Inspection Bonus!

What do you do when OSHA arrives at your workplace? Your records should be your most important allies! To help prepare, we use OSHA inspection guidelines to identify what record keeping items OSHA may focus on.

New Forms - New Rules!

Employers must now use the OSHA 300, 301 and 300A forms to record workplace injuries and illnesses. All attendees receive copies of the OSHA forms and a detailed course manual. The new forms also create additional employer responsibilities in regard to employee privacy and employee access to records. The new standard, OSHA's first major revamp of record keeping in 30 years, contains requirements - not recommendations - that employers must follow to avoid significant fines and penalties.
