When the ADA and FMLA became law in the 1990's
employers throughout the U.S. were faced with new challenges and
increased demands. Both laws continue to create new challenges for
employers who struggle with the confusing and sometimes conflicting
requirements.
We
cover the ins and outs of these two important pieces of legislation.
This session goes in-depth with both the Family Medical Leave Act
(FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to examine
how the Acts have developed, where they stand today, and where potential
changes may arise. Additional topics include: Pre-employment inquiries,
Record keeping and disclosure requirements, Reasonable accommodations,
Tips on managing communication between medical providers, employees
and employers and Return to work strategies.
Seminar materials include sample policies,
forms, U.S. Department of Labor materials, and group exercises derived
from real-life situations.
We will examine the links between the FMLA,
ADA and the Workers' Compensation requirements in your state.
After you register, email your FMLA &
ADA specific questions to FMLA@TheMissionGroup.Net
This course is both an ideal refresher for
anyone familiar with the legislation and an excellent indoctrination
for employees who have not worked with the Acts.
If three persons attend from the same organization
a fourth can attend at no cost.
Lunch and materials are included with your
registration fee.
